Has anyone tried the tarmac technique?

And,if so, was it just me that managed to get in a bit of a mess?

I get the whole bit about layers of embossing or embellishments and I get the whole bit about adding colours to those layers/embellishments but there's just something so WRONG about then covering it with bitumen paint and then knocking back with white spirit. That said, I DID like the finished project.

Has anyone tried the same process with black acrylic paint and knocking back with a baby wipe? Does it work as well?

Hi, this is really amazing. I am also looking for tarmac and the toys. What do you think about Kidkraft http://www.clicknbuyaustralia.com/brand/kidkraft/ is it UK base brand!

I'm afraid I don't know whether it's a UK brand but it doesn't look particularly craft related either
